Outside there are palm trees, including a date palm, hibiscus and oleanders. Right opposite is a small cove which is excellent for snorkelling, swimming, and for pic nics on the flat rocks on the shore. There are several beaches within 400 yards in Murdeira; some sandy, some rocky.

Customers' comments

We had such a wonderful stay at your villa at Christmas that we are all agreed we'd like to do it again this year! D

We had a fantastic holiday. We all wanted to stay longer, even the youngsters. To come back to Murdeira, it was like a haven. We had a fantastic holiday, the house was wonderful. It was very stress free. It all worked so well. I've been all over the world and never had one so well equipped. It had everything you'd want. The instructions were very good. We'll definitely go back. N

We had a lovely time, the Villa is in a great location, very quiet. We were a bit apprehensive about the Island at first but within two days we loved it.

We hired a car for two days but after one day we returned it as we had seen all of the Island 2 or 3 times by then, Ha Ha. Everyone was very friendly and it will be a place we frequently return to. C

We loved the island - the house was super. The people were lovely. We became part of the community. The pool at the restaurant was brilliant; we played tennis. The snorkelling was great, but the surf waves weren't right for us (August). The villa was pefect. B was very helpful - she was there if we needed her. We used to sit on the roof terrace, with a nice breeze. It was good to go to Santa Maria and we were pleased to return to Murdeira. Everything worked well, really well equipped, we'll be back. A.

At the moment Sal has got just about the right mix of everything to make it a really interesting place to go, a bit rough around the edges still, which I really like. This probably won't be the case in not so many years I guess. The villa was very good and all of your information was very useful. P

We really enjoyed hearing the sound of the ocean from our bed. S

This has to be the best equipped holiday villa we have ever encountered in terms of gadgets, furnishings and comfort. There was a good supply of cleaning materials, dry foodstuffs and detergent. The location was splendid with a view of Lion Mountain across the bay.  It was quiet and we enjoyed a relaxing breakfast each morning.  We were pleasantly surprised to find beach towels. We felt that this was undoubtedly the best place to stay on Sal (apart from the Morabeza!) and a good place to return to in the evening or to spend the day reading at the pool.  The village is well-maintained with staff much in evidence tending to the plants, emptying bins etc and there was a general feeling of safety. The supermarket had most things including barbecue charcoal. We bought bread each morning and most ingredients, and found the staff pleasant and helpful. G

Cape Verde Jetaway's comment

This villa offers a variety of temperatures, either indoors or outdoors. Villas in the Cape Verdes are for those customers experienced in self catering and are independent and resourceful. If you would like everything to be laid on, as in a 5 star hotel, it would be better to stay in a hotel outside the Cape Verde Islands as there are no 5 star hotels by international standards. Because the islands are in the Tropics it is not uncommon to find the odd ant or cockroach, but these are easily removed with the right spray. Shopping is much more primitive than other places, and can be fun, but time consuming as there is no Waitrose, and items can run out if they have to be imported. If you enjoy buying fish direct from the jetty, and nosing round in tiny stores and finding the vegetable market, and meeting the locals, you will have a great time. Ask us about a starter pack, wine/beer delivery to the villa, a shopping trip and the possibility of fish delivery to your villa, and the possibility of having your own cook.
