Accommodation at the all inclusive Riu Karamboa

The Riu Karamboa has a large reception area. 750 rooms with electronic in room safe, private shower room, hairdryer, telephone, central air conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-fridge, satellite TV, balcony or terrace. Triple rooms have a sofa bed. Family rooms have a separate living room with sofa bed, Suites have a bathroom with bath, bidet and a separate living room with sofa. Junior suites have bathroom with hydro-massage bath and shower cabin, adjoining living room with sofa and jacuzzi on upper terrace available.

Dining - eat and drink all day long - all inclusive - 24 hours

Everything is buffet style. Grab as much food as you like throughout the day in a variety of settings. Breakfast: Buffet and on the spot cooking stations, continental breakfast/snacks. Lunch; Buffet with on the spot cooking stations and assorted puddings. Snacks at the poolside restaurant. Cakes and coffee. Dinner Buffets and dishes prepared on the spot. Special themed buffet twice a week. Optional restaurant dining, Cape Verdean cuisine (Barlotento), Asian Cuisine (Buda) or African cuisine (Las Dunas, poolside), reservations required in advance. Snacks served 24 hours a day. Drinks, domestic and imported drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) serviced 24 hours a day.

Bars and drinks

There are 5 bars too, Morabeza loggy bar, Lambada lounge bar, Mogambo dance bar, Praia poolside bar with swim up bar, Brava plaza bar. At the restaurants there are soft drinks, including carbonated drinks as well as choice of pink, white or red wine, and a local beer, much of which you can consume out of a plastic container. It is not possible to purchase better quality wines or a higher standard of coffee.

There may be an external baby sitting service. This is chargeable and can be ordered from reception. Check with Riu before you go. For those requiring special baby food, please bring this with you.

Comments on Riu all inclusive

There are few hotels in Boavista and the better ones are not within easy reach of bars or restaurants so the Riu Karamboa will be no exception. The Riu is the hotel that all the biggest European tour operators are selling, including Thomson. (Be careful to get a full price quote with all the extras including taxes, food on plane, luggage etc). For those seeking a true package holiday experience in the sun without knowing you are in the Cape Verdes, this may be the the place. The beach on the West coast of Boavista is spectacular and you can walk for miles along it.
