RESIDENCIAL Tocely, Tarrafal, Sao Nicolao Island, Cape Verde

Set in the centre of Tarrafal, Sao Nicolao, close to the ocean. There is a beach within about 50 metres. Approx 100 metres from the fishing port and fish market. Rooms

Bedrooms are simple, with TV. Most have air conditioning.

Dining

Breakfast. There is a buffet laid out in the dining room, which is open air, looking out to sea. Half board available. Underneath the guest house is a cafe, and opposite, a bar cafe. There are several other restaurants in Tarrafal within walking distance of the guest house.

Comments

The guest house is run by a fishing enthusiast. Guests can pre-arrange to hire Bertram 33's which will come over for 4 days minimum from Mindelo. The fishing in Sao Nicolao is reputed to be extremely good - there was certainly evidence of a lot of fish as we walked round the town. Or, the hotel manager can organise fishing with a local fisherman in a smaller boat. The hotel is a good base to explore Tarrafal, go fishing, or walking trips in Monte Gordo, in the centre of the island of Sao Nicolao.
