Comments
The main entrance is impressive, with a very high ceiling.
Formerly the stop over point for many airline crews who passed through,
the hotel has fewer guests now. You are likely to get a warm welcome
here, and although you could not call it smart, it is authentic,
with a feeling of space. It was last updated
in 1992 and is planning to undergo major refurbishment.
The hotel has very easy access to all the amenities in Espargos.
Opposite is a cafe called Bom Dia, with many tables outside, where you will find most of those working in Espargos passing through. If
you are looking to spend more than a night's holiday in Sal, you
might prefer to stay near the sea, in Santa Maria (18 minutes) or
Murdeira. Espargos is very convenient for meeting the right people
if you are trying to conduct any form of business. The local notary
is within a few hundred yards, and it is here that you will need
to sign for Cape Verde property and land that you are purchasing
in Sal. The hotel is right opposite the Camara Municipal where you can check on land registry, plots of land with permission and pay your property purchase tax. There are also several lawyers very close by as well as hardware stores and general shops. There are taxis and aluguiers (buses) regularly from Espargos
to the beaches in Santa Maria, and to Palmeira, the harbour and container port.
